Engage: Your World Is the Stage

One word sits at the centre of what it means to be engaged in our world: responsibility. When we begin to see our slice of the world—our street, neighbourhood, workplace, city—not simply as happenstance but as divine design, everything changes.

Suddenly, our everyday life is flooded with purpose. Not the individual, capital "P" Purpose unique to each one of us. This is the simple, powerful, small "p" purpose available in every moment.

When you make this shift, your world—however small, mundane, and normal—becomes a vibrant mission field with you at the centre. It's your stage, your platform, your moment. Engage and watch God back your every faith-filled move.

Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.

What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he'll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God's Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.

So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all.

Galatians 6:5,7-10 (MSG)

This generation of Christians is responsible for this generation of souls on earth.
