Missionaries in Unlikely Places

Years ago, a prophet had a dream. In the dream, someone told him that “Ramp” stands for Passionate Missionaries Awakening Revival. He woke up, came to the Ramp, and told us he felt God was raising up missionaries from the Ramp.

One of the most fascinating parts of the word was that not all the missionaries would be moving abroad. There would be a company of people living like missionaries at home.

We’re flying back home to Manchester from America today. This weekend at the Winter Ramp conference, I was reminded of this dream as I saw a community of people living on mission.

What did it look like? Among other things, to live like a missionary is to live sacrificially so others may simply live—and simply find life in Christ. Like Paul says, “Death works in me, but life in you” (2 Cor 4:12 NIV).

It is to live by faith in God as you set out with fierce focus and determination to do his will. It is to seek first his kingdom and trust the rest of life’s details to him.

I cared not where or how I lived, or what hardships I went through, so that I could but gain souls to Christ.
